Happy Friday + Link Love

-Things that you need to add to your wardrobe: a western-inspired belt like this one (my fave) and this one. They look awesome with high-waisted black skinnies.

-I've been hearing a lot of really good things about this contour palette and want to try it out. If you've used it, what do you think?

-How cute is this twisted hem dress? Oh, and it's made out of sweatshirt material so it's super cozy!

-I've mentioned before that I don't like wearing foundation, so something that's lightweight but still provides good coverage is key. This article rounds up a bunch and I'm dying to try this one!

-This is the best pair of black skinnies I've found yet! Super flattering and so comfortable.

-This lace top is so pretty and would be perfect to dress up or down for a Valentine's date!

-I've been living in my Hunter boots because of all the snow and finally sprung for the welly socks they make for them. I also love this cable knit style.

-Pictures of Kendall and Kylie's clothing line are officially out. Thoughts?

-Tried on this biker jacket the other week and am debating going back for it. It's the perfect weight, isn't too stiff and I love the detailing.

-I swear, these January sales are better than anything we saw before Christmas. This time it's LOFT. Get an extra 60% off all sale items.

Happy Friday + Link Love

-Finally found the perfect chunky knit with lace-up detailing. Obsessed!

-Looking for a way to dress up almost any coat or jacket? A faux fur stole will do the trick! I love this one to go with everything or a navy blue one to switch it up!

-How cute is this lace bralette?! Ideal for weekends (especially ones where you're snowed in), lounging and tops with an open back or v-neck. I also have my eye on this one.

-I'd be lying if I said I didn't love the sneaker trend, and Nike just re-released a classic that you'll be seeing everywhere. Even in fashion campaigns!

-Next time you're trying to get your order total over the threshold for free shipping at Forever 21, add this to your cart. I bought one a few months ago and actually want to get a few more for around the house. I promise you'll find use for it!

-If this could just magically appear in my closet before the snow starts, that would be great. I've heard they're the warmest coats out there!

-A (somewhat) gentle and hilarious reminder about how to drive in snow.

-Just added these to my never-ending workout gear wish list.

-My quest for the perfect black ankle bootie has finally ended (for now) thanks to this pair. I ordered them on a whim and love them!

-Since I'm fringe obsessed (see here), I couldn't resist this sweater. So comfy and cute!

If you're in Jonas's path, stay safe and warm this weekend!

Sweater dress c/o, similar style here | Similar OTK boots | Similar coat here and here | Similar bag

If I'm not in head to toe black, white and gray, it's likely I'm in various shades of neutral. And winter whites have an extra special place in my heart. Especially when they come in the form of a fuzzy sweater dress! Speaking of, this is one style I've been stocking up on a lot lately (some of my favorites are here) and they've been well worth it. They're so comfortable and easy to throw on with OTK boots for a look that makes you look way more put together than you probably feel. Or is that just me? ;)

Hope all you East Coasters have stockpiled and are ready for the blizzard that's heading our way tomorrow!

Must-have: The best fringe sweaters

Whether you like your fringe with a boho feel or with a more western vibe, there's no denying it's one of the "it" embellishments lately. It started with the 70s resurgence last summer and fall and has continued right into winter and infiltrated your cozy sweater collection. And you won't see me complaining one bit! I mentioned last week that I picked up this sweater and I'm currently contemplating which of these will be next on my list. This one and this one are on major sale, but I've probably met my white sweater quota for the moment so I'm thinking of switching it up with this black one!

Happy Tuesday!

Happy Friday + Link Love

-Picked up this fringe sweater last weekend and have already worn it twice! I also love this one, which happens to be on major sale right now!

-High-waisted black skinnies are on my must-have list right now and I'm thinking this is the perfect pair.

-If you've been searching for a seriously chunky knit scarf, then look no further. And it's so soft!

-An interesting article on why you're seeing prices rise at some of your favorite fast fashion stores.

-Forever 21's sale section is an extra 30% off all weekend. I love this faux fur trimmed coat, this cozy sweater and these lace-up booties.

-This bag has the perfect mix of fringe and chain detailing. And the price is a steal!

-If it weren't for the fact I've already maxed out my coat quota for the season, this navy blue beauty would be in my closet. I'm actually still not convinced I won't splurge!

-Who What Wear is already predicting which shoe you'll be seeing everywhere this year.

-As someone who's workout wardrobe consists of mostly black and white, these sneakers in gray have my name written allll over them.

-I've been dying to try this at home gel nail polish by Sally Hansen. If you have experience with it, I'd love to know your thoughts!

Coat (Similar + a few more color options here) | Beanie | Jeans | Similar booties here and here | Bag | Sunglasses

I probably talked about this wool parka on 16 different occasions before Christmas when I first ordered it. And rightfully so. I'm just as obsessed in person as I was when I saw it online. Yes, you've probably seen others rocking this more expensive version from regular J. Crew, but other than a few extra zippers and a sleeve seam, the differences are basically non-existent. (I'll wait while you compare them side by side...See? Told ya.) In fact, I think I might even like mine better!

In addition to being a sucker for anything gray and faux fur, I'm also a huge fan of a coat actually being functional and, ya know, warm. This one kept me cozy one one of the chilliest days yet, so it's a keeper in my book. So did this beanie, which just happens to match perfectly and currently be on sale ;)

Happy Thursday!

Living room makeover with Havenly -- The concepts

When we bought our first home last summer, I was so excited to finally have the freedom to update, improve and decorate to my heart's content. But combine my somewhat challenged eye for interior design, having an entire house to do as compared to a smaller apartment and the fear of spending money on furniture I'm committing to for years and I had nowhere to start. I knew I wanted to take it one room at a time, but also knew I needed some help. Enter, Havenly.

First, a little bit about them. For $199, you get to make over any room in your house with one of their fabulous interior designers. We chose the living room. You send them your inspiration, wants, needs, likes, dislikes, any current furniture you're keeping/want included, etc. and they take it from there. I worked with Julianne, who I basically ended up dumping every thought I've ever had about a living room on. She was amazingly patient and knew exactly how to reign in my scattered ideas to create something that made actual sense. I sent her tons of inspiration (aka late night messages with things that would pop into my head) and she totally nailed my aesthetic. Oh, and it's all done online! All you have to do is send them dimensions and room photos. Super convenient!

And it's not just all about looks. It had to be functional! Sofia plays there, we like to relax and watch TV, and it's also an extension of our dining room so we wanted it to be great for entertaining. My must-haves included more seating, some extra storage and ideas for making the left side of the room useful. With all that in mind, she sent over the first two concepts:

Concept 1

Concept 2

She was spot on with my love for a neutral palette and I was starting to get so excited when I thought about how it would look in our space. I ended up taking elements from both concepts for the designs (because, indecisive) and asked her to swap out a few items that I loved but were a bit too pricey for our budget. She also gave me some additional rug options because I'm somewhat neurotic when it comes to picking one.

Initial Design 1

Right side of the room

Left side of the room

Initial Design 2

Right side of the room

Left side of the room

Since furniture and decor are expensive (and our Christmas tree was taking up the place of the shelving unit haha) we're still putting the finishing touches on the design. I'll be sharing the final design and big reveal in the coming weeks and can't wait to show you how it turned out! You can get a sneak peek here and here.

In the meantime, I'd definitely suggest checking out Havenly if your space needs a bit of a refresh. I can't say enough good things about their designers and how easy it was! They also offer mini makeovers for $79, which is perfect if you want a different perspective on something but are limited by funds, space, renting, etc.

What do you think of the designs so far and which rug do you think I ended up with? ;)

Thanks to Havenly for partnering on this post.

Work it out

The parking lot at your local gym has been a bit more crowded lately, there are at least three people you follow on Instagram/Snapchat who are posting every single one of their Whole 30 meals and none of your friends want to go out on a Friday night because #dryJanuary. But whether you're a regular gym rat or have resolved to get fit in 2016, we can all agree that cute workout clothes make it a lot easier to commit to sweating it out.

I recently stocked up on some new gear (umm, hello marble leggings and matching sports bra) and figured it was the perfect time to round up pieces you'll be excited to get dressed in and do my part to keep your motivation going strong. You'll notice a lot of what I chose is from Forever 21 and it's because they have super cute pieces at awesome prices and the quality is surprisingly good! I wash my workout clothes all. the. time. and everything I have from there has held up really well. Oh, and in case you need a new gym bag to hold it all, I got this one in oxblood from the husband for Christmas and absolutely love it!

-H&M is basically giving things away at their winter sale right now, including the sweater I've been wearing non-stop and these perfect black ankle booties.

-Speaking of ankle booties, how cute is this lace-up pair? I love that the heel isn't super high, which makes them more wearable!

-These OTK boots are back and re-stocked in almost every size!

-If hitting the gym more is one of your resolutions, you're not alone! I've had my eye on these leggings for a while and definitely think they'll help keep me motivated.

-And since you're on the fitness train, why not try one of these quick and healthy stir-fry recipes? I'm dying to try the lemon asparagus one!

-LOFT is also having an awesome sale at the moment. I've been drooling over this coat for over a year and it miraculously came back in stock in my size (along with almost all other sizes). Couldn't hit purchase fast enough!

-How many on this list of constantly sold out beauty products do you own?

-This drapey, off-the-shoulder blouse has me wishing spring and summer were already here. Le sigh.

-My favorite beanie from last winter was from Topshop and they have another one this season I'm loving! The white is my favorite, but it also comes in gray, black and navy.

-And because this week's links are apparently all about the awesome sales that are going on right now, you'll also want to check out ASOS.

Sweater c/o | Leggings | Similar boots here and here | Bag c/o | Sunglasses c/o Ditto

I'm really trying to get back into a routine of taking outfit pictures and, of course, end up picking one of the coldest days we've had so far this winter. I totally let all that mild December weather slip away without a single photo. Fail. But here I am, back at it (aleit freezing), in my go-to winter combo: faux leather leggings and a cozy sweater.

I'm also excited to let you guys in on a little secret that involves getting as many pairs of designer sunglasses as you can handle all for only $24/month. You can swap out as often as you'd like and shipping is free both ways. For all the deets, check out Ditto and make sure to use the code "ALLYCOG" to get your first month free!

Get organized

Tuesday Temptations: Get organized

Happy New Year, babes! I can't wrap my mind around the fact that it's already 2016. When/how did that happen? Either way, I'm so excited for all that a new calendar year brings. And while I'm a big believer in making positive life changes at any point, it's so much easier to do when December turns into January and you have a fresh 12 months ahead of you. Lately I've been working on de-cluttering, getting organized, and being more on top of things in general and hope to continue the trend in the new year. (I refuse to call it a resolution because I can never seem to stick to those - ha!) So today, now that we're officially back in the swing of things, I thought I'd share some items that might make getting organized a little easier and, more importantly, cuter ;)

I've already mentioned that I bought and love this planner, but I also just got this for my desk at work. And I'm sure I'll want to buy even more organizational items after I read this book. A friend is letting me borrow it and I can't wait to dive in. I've heard it's so good! If you've read it I'd love to know your thoughts or if you had any life-changing take aways from it!
