Lady Gaga concert with VerizonUp

Okay so first of all, I realize it's been a minute since I've posted. Sometimes life gets crazy and overwhelming and I do plan on getting back into the swing of things/explaining why I took some time off but that's for another post! But for today, the focus is all about one of the reasons I love blogging.

It's true that bloggers do get presented with some pretty cool opportunities/partnerships. For me, this one takes the cake. Big time. Oh, and there will be some major fan-girling here, so you've been warned ;)

A few weeks ago I got an email about partnering with VerizonUp, a new rewards program through Verizon. It's essentially a perks and benefits program where you can use your points towards products like the Google Home (more on that later) or for incredibly exclusive experiences: like getting the VIP treatment to see Lady Gaga on her Joanne World Tour. Eeeeeeeeee.

Truth: I'm not a hard core fan of almost any artist. But if there's one exception, it's Lady Gaga. I've followed her career from day one and believe she's truly one of the most talented artists of our generation (you can check out some of my favorite live performances here and here). So when this opportunity landed in my inbox I nearly fainted. And it wasn't just tickets to see the show. They were front row tickets. And the chance to go backstage. AND TO MEET HER.

The backstage experience was beyond. Not only did they treat us to dinner beforehand (the same place where the tour crew eats -- we actually saw her choreographer there), but we also got an exclusive backstage walk through. We saw the changing areas under the stage, her costumes and even the piano where she performed "The Cure" at the American Music Awards (Side note: this was awesome because she performed it live for the D.C. audience and then it was aired a little while later on the show. It was incredible and you can see the performance here.) The best part, though, was the meet and greet with Gaga herself after the show. It was super late and you could tell she was exhausted, but she was incredibly sweet as she sipped her rose and chatted with us for a while. I mean...insane, right?!

As you can imagine, I've been on a bit of a high ever since haha. I think my family is officially tired of hearing my Lady Gaga favorites over and over, which I've been playing around the house constantly thanks to Google Home (just one of the products you can use your reward points towards with VerizonUp). Since it's portable I can bring it anywhere, so I'll turn it on and cue up my playlist when I'm cleaning up my kitchen at night, sorting laundry or taking a shower. Sofia is even starting to learn some of the songs haha. It since it connects to your phone you can access your calendar, give it commands, ask questions (aka all the random stuff you Google on a daily basis) and even link up to any smart home technology you might have. It'd actually make a really great Christmas gift, so in case you're stumped on what to get someone, it's a great option!

Oh, and here's a look at what I wore. All black with a graphic tee, duh ;)

Thanks to Verizon for partnering on this post.
