I go a little nuts when it comes to shopping for fall. It's my favorite season and I always feel like I need just one more thing (my poor husband/bank account). I also tend to buy more accessories during this time of year than any other. Maybe it's because this is when I feel most inspired to get dressed and experiment, or maybe it's because the summer heat is no longer clouding my sartorial decision-making and I'm able to think about putting more than just the acceptable amount of clothing on my body. I love that it's an easy way to give your look a little refresh without buying an entirely new wardrobe (which I guess is true year round) and it's not quite as a commitment as, say, a coat you're going to wear all winter long.
My current favorite trend right now is chokers and collar necklaces. I really wasn't into the whole 90s revival thing at first, and I still prefer something simple over multi-layer pieces and things with charms, but I really do like the look of a single choker. A classic metal one is my go-to and I wear it with everything from t-shirts to dresses. I picked up a super skinny leather one from a street vendor in New York (similar to this), but I'm also loving something a little thicker like this velvet version (we'll talk about the velvet trend soon!).
A new bag is another way to refresh the pieces you already have and I'm loving the two I included today. This one is a great dupe for the designer version and the metal ring on this one gives it a cool retro vibe. And don't forget to dress it up with a fuzzy pom ;)
These are just a few of my must-haves and there are tons more, but if there's anything I missed or there's something specific you want to see let me know!
