Poplin dress shirts -- mainly of the button-down variety -- have long been part of the 9-5 attire game. The classic white one has been included in every must-have roundup I think I've ever seen (and that's whether you have a desk job or not) and there's no denying they've earned their wardrobe staple status. But recently we've seen them get a little bit of a makeover and it's something you're going to be noticing more and more.
Forget the classic style you're used to. The updated version is asymmetrical, oversized, shoulder-baring and accented with bows, ties and ruffles. If you're part of the daily grind where pencil skirts and starched collars reign, some of these styles are a great way to breathe life into your office look without turning too many heads. But don't get me wrong, these dress shirts aren't just work wear. They're also great to pair with skinny jeans for a polished night-out look.
I wore an off the shoulder version in yesterday's post, and I can't wait to add more to my collection. This one and this one are my favorites from the ones above!
