Spring accessories update

After a long winter of using the same bag and keeping my accessories minimal -- because with all the cold weather layering I just cannot with anything extra on my body -- I always look forward to a little update in the spring. It's also a fun way to transition certain parts of your wardrobe to the new season without switching to florals and white eyelet dresses on the first 60 degree day. So today I'm sharing my top five must-have spring accessories that'll help you leave winter behind.

I'm also excited to be teaming up with Bloomingdale's in Chevy Chase this Saturday for a fun little Spring Accessories Update event! I'll be there from 1-4 p.m. to help you get your shop on and share more of my favorite pieces that you need in your life right now. If you live in the area, I'd love if you stopped by to say hi!

1. The hands-free bag
A couple months ago my every day work bag got a major downgrade and it was the best thing I've ever done! Don't get me wrong, I still like a big satchel or tote, but on normal days when I don't need a ton of stuff having a smaller bag has been a game changer. A crossbody or mini bag is great, but really anything that doesn't require hands (bucket bags and backpacks count, too!) will work.
2. Collar necklaces/chokers
The 90s are making a comeback in a big way and this is actually one instance where I don't mind it. I love a simple gold choker to complement an outfit!

3. Belts
We've talked about western-inspired belts, which happen to be my favorite, but anything with attention-grabbing detail that you can pair with your high-waisted skinnies will work.
4. Mirrored sunglasses
Sunglasses are my favorite accessory and I can't get enough mirrored pairs right now! If your friends feel like they're talking to their reflection, you know you've nailed it.
5. White sneakers
Okay, so I know sneakers aren't technically an accessory, but either way you need to get yourself a white pair and wear them with everything. Your stilettos may feel a little lonely, but your feet/body will thank you 20 years from now and you'll look super chic.

Hope to see some of you on Saturday!
