Blazer: Forever 21 (similar), Tank top: Forever 21, Jeans: Rag & Bone, Heels: Nine West (old, love these and these), Purse: Danielle Nicole, Bracelet: C. Wonder (similar), Necklaces: Forever 21 (steal here, splurge here) and Poshmark (love this one)
I love the women in my family dearly, but somewhere along the way I was taught that it was a major fashion faux pas to mix navy blue and black. They were made for two totally separate outfits and you just didn't put them together. And then one day I woke up and realized that this was not only a tad bit old fashioned (sorry mom), but also just plain silly. How could they not belong when I just love them together so much?
Fast forward to present day and you have this outfit. I've been wanting to give the black and blue combo a try so badly lately and figured it was the perfect opportunity -- especially given that I finally found the most amazing pair of coated denim after months of searching. I'm absolutely obsessed with how sleek this Rag & Bone pair is and I love that they're a little edgier than regular jeans, which is always a plus in my book.
Do you still abide by any old fashioned style rules like this one? Ya know, similar to the no white after Labor Day thing?
XO,
Alison

I was the same way. But there's just something about mixing the two. They almost blend and become Midnight Blue (my all-time favorite Crayola color!)

First off, your hair is looking all sorts of awesome lady - long and fiery! I keep trying to convince my mom that she needs to let go of the whole black and navy don't mix notion too; how could such chic shades not go together?!
