Warm brown: RGB, Essie, Butter London | Plum: Revlon, Julep, Sally Hansen
I may not be ready to pull out my cold weather wardrobe yet, but there's one thing I'm getting kinda antsy about resurrecting and that's my fall nail polish collection. I am a self-proclaimed nail polish enthusiast/hoarder/junkie (admitting is the first step), so I always get excited when brands debut their new hues around this time of year!
For fall 2013, we're seeing a few repeats of last year in addition to some fabulous new color palettes on the block. I'm especially loving all the deep purples and plums, which -- surprisingly -- I don't actually have in my stash. The olive, dark teal and army green shades are topping my list of colors to invest in as well.
Neutrals are also hugely popular this year, so if you're looking for something a little more toned down, try the many variations of brown and gray. You can go as light or dark as you want (i.e. chocolate brown vs. tan or light ash vs. charcoal) so try experimenting to find a shade that works best for you. I actually love the cocoa-inspired colors like Essie's Hot Chocolate (above) and wear it all the time in the fall!
And, of course, you have your classics like navy blue and the ever-popular oxblood. These are my go-to colors when it's cold outside and, even though I could have every shade in their respective spectrums, it'll never be enough and I'll continue to buy the same colors season after season -- only with different names. Marketing geniuses, I tell you!
So, spill it! Which color trend are you most looking forward to painting on in a few weeks?
XO,
Alison
I'm shocked that I don't have any olive greens in my stash!!! I see a nail polish indulgence in my very near future. I'm a huge fan of deep plums and oxblood colors for fall.

Grey! I almost painted my nails a light grey last night but figured I needed to squeeze in a few more brights before fall really hits!

Oxblood all the way, but I also can't help but love that dark navy by OPI!

Light grey is ALWAYS one of my favorites. But I am dying to pull out my oxblood polish. It quickly became a staple last year. I am obsessed.
ReplyDeleteI'm always drawn to navy and gray -- so classic and chic!
