The best way to describe my current wish list would be "edited." Of course trendy pieces are great, but part of what I realized is that it's best to stick to pieces that are me. They get the most wear and effortlessly take on any look I'm going for on a specific day.
-Graphic tees: I've always been a jeans, blazer and t-shirt kinda girl and have probably said that it's my go-to outfit like a bazillion times on this blog. Strangely enough, I don't have that many t-shirts that I truly love. And after wearing this one, I'm officially convinced I need more. Add a statement necklace (like here, here and here) and it's like outfit magic.
-Statement heels: You may not know it, but I have a really bad habit of gravitating towards black shoes/heels. It's not really a problem, because black goes with basically everything, but I see so many amazing pairs of shoes that add a little something extra to an outfit by being a great color or having amazing details. I feel like I have a pretty well stocked arsenal of basic black, so it's time expand my shoe collection's horizons!
-Blouses: Is it possible to have too many button down blouses? In my case, I'm thinking yes. I love blouses almost as much as blazers, but I'm in serious need of ones without buttons. They're just easier, don't you think?
-Denim: Because of my height, it is so. ridiculously. hard. to find a pair of jeans that fits me well in all the right places. I almost never buy jeans and when I do I wear them over and over until they rip or wear out completely. Then it's back to square one. And they always have to be hemmed. But even that can be an issue because they tend to not be as fitted in the calf as they should be. During Lent I vowed that as soon as I could shop again, I would have a date with the denim section of Bloomingdale's and won't leave until I find a fabulous pair that fits right and will still look perfect after alterations! You hear that, Bloomies? I'm comin' for ya!
-Dresses/Skirts: For someone who has so many issues with pants/jeans, you'd think I'd be more inclined to buy more dresses and skirts. But alas, I'm seriously lacking in this department. And dresses are just so easy. Why I don't own more is beyond me. Definitely looking forward to changing that!
So there it is. My wish list after a shopping-free Lent! No major surprises, right? I know, I'm pretty predictable. Are there specific pieces you feel your wardrobe needs more (or less) of?
XO,
Alison
First of all, good for you for giving up shopping for Lent. My sister told me that I should have done that. Maybe next year. I LOVE those t-strap heels! SO gorgeous! And I featured that striped Topshop top in my post today too. Love it.

I LOVEEE that dress! I feel like I need to work on buying items that I will wear over and over - versatility is key and sometimes I don't take that into account when I buy something lol
