I wore this outfit to the grand opening of the newest South Moon Under last night where the lovely Emily of Cupcakes and Cashmere was signing copies of her book.

Two things about the event:

One, I was so happy to be able to show support for South Moon Under - a company that opened its first store in Ocean City, Maryland and now has 18 locations along the East Coast. Since there are so many in the DMV area, I consider it a local business...of which I'm always in favor!

Two, I have been a fan of Emily's since before Chain Strap Purse existed and before I knew what style blogging was. She paved the way for so many of us, myself included, and her success has undoubtedly provided opportunities for bloggers everywhere. As expected, she was sweet, classy and gracious in person.

Both SMU and Emily's successes are proof that hard work, dedication and the willingness to follow your passion truly pays off. And it doesn't hurt to be reminded of that every once in a while!
