Beauty product favorites for beach waves
I've been getting a lot of questions (and compliments - you guys flatter me!) lately about how I get my hair to have those easy and relaxed waves that make it look like you spent the day at the beach. I wish I had some kind of complicated routine to share with you - okay not really, because I don't like spending a lot of time on my hair/I'm not very good at it :) - but it's really all about the product. So today I wanted to share with you a few of my favorites in hopes that you can achieve the same look!
1. Bumble and bumble ($24) - I tried this for the first time this summer after having heard about it since I was in high school. It's the most expensive of the three, but definitely worth it for the results you get. The bottle recommends letting your hair air dry after using it, and I would as well. Using a hair dryer will make your waves a bit frizzy and less defined.
2. John Masters Organics ($16.50) - Ya know when you hear about something for the first time and then it pops up everywhere for the next few days? That's what happened with this product, so I decided it was a sign and ordered it! It's significantly less expensive than the Surf Spray, but ultimately gives the same results. Plus, it's organic, which is a huge bonus! The ingredients are water, sea salt and lavender oil (which makes it smell absolutely amazing). I also like this one because I can use my hair dryer a bit with this and it doesn't get frizzy. But for best results, let it air dry.
3. Herbal Essence Tousle Me Softly ($4) - This is actually the product I started using years ago to create beachy waves, and I still love it today. Since it's not sea salt based, it keeps your hair super soft and shiny. I use this mostly in the winter when I still want the same look, but can't rely on the warm summer air to dry my hair by the time I get to work. Use a low setting or a diffuser to keep the waves in tact.
So that's it! If you guys try any of these products, please let me know what you think of them! Or if you have another great product, feel free to share!
XO,
Alison
P.S. Tuesday Temptations will return next Wednesday. In the mean time, you can still check out everything I'm loving on my Currently Obsessed page! P.S. I have some great fall items on there :)

I've been really tempted to try the Bumble and Bumble spray but the other two have now peaked my interest as well. Do any of them make your hair crunchy?? I hate when I do the beach waves with a product and my hair is super crunchy and frizzy.

The mousse can make your hair crunchy if you don't continue to scrunch it while it dries - whether you're air drying it or using a hair dryer. Sometimes a few pieces will dry but still look "wet," so I just them between my hands and that takes care of it! The other two salt-based sprays can make your hair frizzy if you use a hair dryer, which is why I suggest letting nature do its thing :) It's taken me a while to figure out the best way to use a lot of these, but it's worth it! Lots of trial and error (and bad hair days lol)!

Thanks! I love air drying in the summer-especially when at the beach. Will be trying the mouse and the one spray soon :) Thanks for the tips.
