Pucker up

I don't usually talk about beauty products here, but when I do it's because I'm totally in love with something and absolutely have to share it with you all. That's definitely the case today with these two products!

First up is Kat Von D's (who even knew she had a makeup line?) Everlasting Love Liquid Lipstick. When I stopped by Sephora last week searching for a bright pink lip color for spring, I had no idea I'd stumble across this. I wanted something that was long lasting, super colorful and not sticky. And let me tell you, this certainly fits the bill!

I have to be honest, I was a little confused when I first picked it up. Not being a beauty product aficionado, I couldn't figure out how it was a lipstick if it had the consistency of a runny lip gloss. But the color was divine so I gave it a shot. Turns out it only goes on liquid-y (like a stain, I suppose) and then dries. Perfection!

Of course it comes off a bit if you're eating or sipping on a drink, but my friends - who kept asking me if I had reapplied - and I were amazed how well it held up throughout the night. I also got a ton of compliments, many from complete strangers, about how amazing the color was and how perfect it is for spring. If I wasn't already convinced, I knew I had picked a winner!

Shocking pink isn't everyone's thing. And if that's the case then this lip gloss from Chantecaille might be. I had never actually heard of this brand before the Neiman Marcus Spring Beauty Preview Event. It was started by a mother-daughter team (Olivia, the daughter, is their model - and she's totally gorgeous) and the line has some of the prettiest makeup I've seen in a long time.

We received their Brililant Gloss in "Lucky" in our goodie bags: a sheer, shimmery pink with flecks of gold for that dewy, natural spring and summer look. I've been wearing it non-stop and everywhere I go. Totally ideal for any occasion.

And as I said, I'm not a huge fan of products that feel sticky or leave that nasty line of...whatever it is...on your lips after it wears off and I've found this to do the exact opposite - which is a huge bonus! My lips always feel hydrated and healthy when I have it on - and even after it's worn off.

So while you're out and about stocking up on your spring wardrobe, don't forget about your beauty products! These are such fun colors and they'll definitely have you looking forward to the warm weather months!

For the record: I was not asked to write about either of these products. I did so on my own because I enjoy sharing products I love/use with my readers.

  2. Great post! I'm in search of a pink for spring and also despise the sticky/have to reapply every 1/2 hour deals. Definitely will check these out!
