When a friend sent this video to me yesterday, I knew I had to share.
It's from a street style blog called Advanced Style by Ari Seth Cohen, who, as he says, "roams the streets of New York looking for the most stylish and creative older folks."
And these ladies are seriously awesome. (Even the iconic Iris Apfel makes an appearance!) They're straight shooters who tell it like it is. Maybe it comes with age, but I think we'd all be better off if more people were as honest as they are. Especially about fashion. The best part is that they reiterate what many of us - especially bloggers - say on a daily basis: They want to wear what they want, what they love and what makes them feel comfortable. Mostly, I just hope I'm that fierce when I'm that old!
"...personal style advances with age." So true!

P.S. I'm so excited to be in the running for Refinery29's Next Big Style Blogger competition! If you like Chain Strap Purse, you can "heart" me by clicking here. And as always, thanks for your support! XO
I love this!

Ha ha. Love this!! I want to be Iris Apfel when I grow up!!!
ReplyDeleteSo cool! I actually met Valerie and Jean from Idiosyncratic Fashionistas last fall in NYC. We kicked it off right away because Jean was wearing some killer creepers that she bought at Trash and Vaudeville, and I never miss a trip to Trash and Vaudeville when I go to NYC. Instant connection! They are awesome ladies!
