Shop for a cause: The District Sample Sale
I didn't know much about the DC fashion scene prior to moving here in March, but I have to say I've been pleasantly surprised. Between Fashion's Night Out, DC Fashion Week (going on now) and a truly fabulous network of bloggers, I've been incredibly inspired!
Obviously, this has been my first "go around" at such events and next on the agenda is the semi-annual District Sample Sale next Monday, September 26.
The $40 general admission fee gets you cocktails, hors d'oeuvres and, most importantly, access to exclusive designer merchandise from local retailers offering what the website describes as "liquidation-level prices." Umm...yes, please!
And if that's not enough, 100 percent of the proceeds from this event are donated to a local charity. This time, they'll be going to WEAVE (Washington Empowered Against Violence), an organization dedicated to eliminating intimate partner abuse and other gender-based violence. They also offer continued support to past beneficiaries through their legacy fund. Pretty cool, huh?
