The madness that is New York Fashion Week began well before I got into the city last week. I knew I'd have less than 45 minutes to get to our hotel, check in and try to get a cab call an Uber, so I ended up changing in my car before we even hit the Lincoln Tunnel and left the unloading to Vincent and Sofia haha (I mentioned here that we made a little family trip out of it). Not that changing in a car in and of itself is crazy or anything, and we've probably all done it, but it was my first moment of "Oh yeah, I remember this" and an instant reminder of what an amazing whirlwind these trips always are!

And speaking of outfits, let me be honest for a sec. When it comes to putting looks together I tend to always overthink it, which is easy to do when the possibility of getting snapped by a street style photographer is in the back of your head. But this season -- and generally in life lately -- I've really tried to stay true to my style and wear what I'm comfortable in, rather than something I'll look back on and regret. So far, I'm still pretty happy with my day one choice ;)

More to come later this week!

  1. Love this top! Do you have any sizing advice though -- looks like it could run big. If you usually run between two sizes would you go with the smaller or larger of the two?

Can't wait to hear about the rest of NYFW.

    1. Hi Laura! So the shirt I'm wearing in these pics is actually from Zara (size XS) but I couldn't find it online. Though I DID see the one I linked to in person at H&M and it's identical. I didn't try it on, but I picked it up to look at and I'd say the sizing is normal and to go with what you'd normally wear. It's a little looser by nature so you should be good to go :) I hope this helps!

      xo, Alison
