If there's one thing I'm perpetually craving, it's black shoes. Most of the time I don't realize that I'm opting for yet another black pair even when they come in other colors. But honestly can you ever really have enough? Ain't no shame in knowing what you like! In my mind, the only thing that's really left to decide is what style. I can never say no to a black bootie -- and if you follow me on Twitter you already saw me tweet about this pair. (Umm, hi, they're $35 but look like they're missing some zeros because they're that. good.) These basic suede beauties are also at the top of my list since they'll go with everything. You know…because the pair I just bought isn't enough. Admitting you have a problem is the first step.
If there's one area where my shoe game is seriously lacking, though, it's in the flats department. Since I'm short, I always go for something with a heel. But lately, I'm really starting to dig the menswear-inspired trend and am even debating a pair of flat smoking slippers or oxfords. I love that they're a little androgynous and think they're a fun way to give any look an extra, unexpected element. If you're still on the fence like I am, I'd suggest starting with a pair like these and working your way up to bolder styles.
