November must-haves

We've been pretty spoiled with some lovely mild temperatures in the D.C. area, but I think Mother Nature finally got the memo and flipped the switch just in time for November's arrival. Between the colder weather and whipping winds this past weekend, I'm reminded of why I crave nothing but cozy pieces this time of the year. And apparently, a whole lot of plaid -- right down to what I want to drink my coffee out of! (Come on, that mug is necessary.)

Plaid shirts (Rails makes the most comfy flannels ever) are one of my favorites for layering, especially with a faux fur vest. They're also super easy and versatile, which is why I usually pick up one or two to wear in different ways throughout the winter.

But not everything has to be practical. Otherwise, I'd have to pass up that clutch and those shoes!
