Stockings were one of the first Christmas decorations to go up when I was a kid. They lined the stairs and I had to pass them when I went anywhere in my house. I was/still am like a hawk at spotting any kind of change in bulk, which might as well be a written invitation to give it a little squeeze as I walk by -- the precise time my mom would always magically appear, by the way.

Ironically, they were the last thing we went through on Christmas morning. It was like a little bonus after opening everything under the tree. And they were always filled with fun little goodies and extra surprises. Oh, and an orange. Anyone else have that tradition?

Either way, stocking stuffers are one of my favorite things about Christmas morning gifting, and I thought they'd be the perfect thing to kick off the next few weeks of gift guides with!
