Jacket: c/o Jigsaw, Top: Nordstrom Rack (similar), Jeans: Zara (very similar), Heels: Target (old, similar), Purse: Michael Kors (very similar and a great price!), Sunglasses: Ray-Ban, Bracelet: c/o Pink Pomelo

One of the things I love most about D.C. is how you get a different vibe from one neighborhood to the next - sometimes even from block to block. As I was snapping these pictures by the Georgetown waterfront, I found myself thinking how awesome it was that this amazing view/scenery was just minutes away from bustling streets, highrise buildings and government offices. In fact, it reminded me of the river in the town near where I grew up, which might as well be the polar opposite of D.C. And yes, it literally had only one stop light!

I also wanted to dress the part since later in the evening I was going on one of the boat tours around the Potomac! This striped jacket from Jigsaw London was perfectly nautical and kept me warm as the sun set and the wind blew across the water. Though nothing could help me when the sky opened up (just as we docked) and every layer was soaked in 5.23 seconds. Fortunately, these were the before pictures and no evidence of "after" exists ;)

XO,
Alison
